Career Plans:  Purse a PhD in meteorology or climatology and ultimately enter academia or work in research.

Favorite Part of Soil Judging:  I enjoy the variety of soils that you learn about during the practice and contest. It amazes me that a slight change in the position of the soil on the landscape can drastically change the soil profile. When describing the soil profile, it is important look at the ‘big picture’ and ask yourself why the soil formed in such a way. It this puzzle of ‘connecting the dots’ that makes soil judging a great learning experience.

Career Plans:  Work in the agronomy industry developing products and educating producers so that we can feed the world more efficiently and farm more sustainably. 

Favorite Part of Soil Judging:  Making new friends that have a shared enthusiasm for learning about one of our greatest and often most overlooked resource -- soil!

Career Plans:  I hope to be a Soil Conservationist for the USDA-NRCS or a Farm Bill Wildlife Biologist for Pheasants Forever.

Favorite Part of Soil Judging:  The friendships made along the way and using teamwork combined with everyone’s skills to be successful out in the field!
